Roof restoration that fixes the cause, not just the colour.
A restoration is more than a fresh coat of paint. Done properly, it finds and repairs what lets water in, re-secures the ridge line, then seals the whole roof so it sheds weather for years to come.

Understanding roof restoration
Most Victorian roofs we restore are concrete or terracotta tile from the 1960s to the 1990s, plus plenty of older Colorbond and galvanised iron. Over decades the cement bedding under ridge caps cracks, tiles go porous and grow lichen, valleys collect leaf litter, and fasteners on metal roofs work loose with every hot-cold cycle.
We start on the roof, not in the office. You get photos of what we find, an explanation of what actually needs doing, and a clear scope that separates the essential repairs from the cosmetic finish. If your roof is beyond restoring, we will tell you that too.

Do any of these sound familiar?
- 01Cracked or crumbling mortar along the ridge caps
- 02Moss, lichen or black staining across the tiles
- 03Faded, chalky or flaking roof paint
- 04Water stains on ceilings after heavy rain
- 05Broken, slipped or porous tiles
- 06Rusted screws, sheets or flashings on a metal roof
How we do it, step by step
You will know what is happening on your roof at every stage. We share photos as we go so nothing is hidden behind the gutter line.
See our work in the galleryRoof inspection & photo report
We get up on the roof and photograph ridges, valleys, flashings, tiles and gutters, then walk you through what we found.
High-pressure clean
Years of lichen, dirt and loose coating come off so repairs and coatings bond to sound material.
Repairs
Broken and cracked tiles replaced, valley irons checked, and leak points around penetrations sealed.
Rebed & repoint ridge caps
Failed bedding is removed, caps are rebedded where needed and repointed with flexible pointing that moves with the roof.
Prime, seal & coat
A primer or sealer followed by membrane coats in the colour you choose, applied to manufacturer specifications.
Clean-up & walkthrough
Gutters flushed, site cleaned, and before-and-after photos handed over.
Good to know
Weather matters
Coatings need dry, mild days. We schedule around Melbourne forecasts rather than rush a coat on before a change.
Not every roof should be painted
Some terracotta roofs only need repairs and rebedding. We will tell you if a coating adds nothing.
Access & pets
We need clear access to the side of the house and somewhere for our ladder and pressure cleaner.
Roof Restoration FAQs
How long does a roof restoration take?
Most single-storey homes take several working days, spread across dry weather. Your quote will include a realistic timeframe for your roof.
Can you restore a Colorbond or tin roof?
Yes. Metal roofs get rust treatment, fastener replacement where needed, and a coating system suited to metal.
Will I need to be home?
Not for most of the work. We just need access and a way to reach you to share progress photos.
